Outlook Express 5 for MacOS


Select "Accounts" from the "Tools" menu

Click the "New" button and select "Mail".

The Account Setup Assistant will ask for your "Display Name." Enter your name (ex. John Smith) and click the right arrow.

Enter your email address in the box and click the right arrow.

Change the mail server pop-up to "IMAP".

In the Incoming Mail Server enter: mail.cadillac.net

Set the SMTP server to the SMTP server of your Internet Provider and click the right arrow.

Your account ID is your email address, enter it in the box labeled account ID.

Your password is the one assigned to you by your system administrator. Enter it and click the right arrow.

Give it a unique name so you'll remember which account it is and click Finish.

You can finish now unless you want some additional security (recommended).

Select your account and choose "Edit".

In the "Receiving Mail" section there's a button entitled "Click here for advanced receiving options". Click it. It'll pop up a little box that says "This IMAP service requires a secure connection (SSL)". Click that and choose OK. Now your connections between your computer and our mail server are secured using a 128bit

Go ahead and close the "Accounts" window and you should have your main "Outlook Express" window open. Your new IMAP account will be listed on the left under Folders. Click the little arrow next to the account and then click on the "INBOX". It will log into the IMAP server and display the contents of your mailbox.
